Band Announcements and Latest News

21st May: Ian again. Never did get round to recording that song - really can't be bothered to try and sing those lyrics with anyone around, namely housemates. However, I recorded two of our riffs for you to download - hopefully over Summer they can be filled out somewhat. So here you go:

12th May: Hi, Ian here reporting for duty. I've been bored not revising, so I fucked around with guitar for a bit the other day. I recorded some semblances of guitar lines - I'll link you to them in demo form, but with my last exam on Tuesday, I think I'll have some free time to work on it with lyrics. It's kinda sad but touching - the lyrics are pure cheese but hey.
Download it by right clicking this link: IAN'S DEMO and selecting "Save As" from the menu. Enjoy!

14th April: Ian reporting for duty. Umm, to put it bluntly, Cesca freaked out when we actually asked her to jam with us, so it was in the best interests of the band that we let her, umm, not be in it, for want of a better phrase. Back to square one, you say? Not so. We have lots of stuff that, while it needs refining, can turn out very well indeed. When I get round to it, I will upload the stuff recorded on the dictaphone at practices - not ideal I know, but hey, what can you do?
Well that's it, brief as it is. See you in heck losers!

25th March: Added Luke's profile. If only he'd get online to help me out answering some of the bloody questions...

25th March: It's the early hours of the morning, yet I am still awake so I thought I'd put in a bit of work on the site. Added Ian's profile, as well as a wee piccie at the top of his profile.

Speaking of, Ian also added a somewhat silly Press Release to his own messageboard, the Ghost Board. You can find the press release here or posted below:

The Calaveras, the London-based alternative rock supergroup, have today named their new bassist, albeit on a trial period, as Cesca Leach, sister of an old school friend. The lineup now reads as follows:

Luke Bishop - Guitar/vocals
Graham Pembrey - Guitar/vocals
Ian Buck - Guitar/backing vocals
Cesca Leach - Bass

The Calaveras have, however, had somewhat less luck in recruiting a drummer following the sacking of former sticks incumbent Adam Jaffrey, after a drug-related incident in a hotel room which left band mascot Mister Cress dead. The band urges anyone with London contacts who considers themselves drummers to contact the band through band member Ian's message board.

The group plan to release an EP to fans around Summertime, with perhaps a few low key gigs at venues such as Brendan's Garage, Ian's Garage and The Cartoon to support it and hand out the EPs for free.

Further news of the band's progress will be made available EXCLUSIVELY through Starpod, the This Equals website, and the Ghost Board messageboard. And not NME because they are twats who couldn't see real talent if it slapped them in the face with a talking trout.

As you can probably see, Ian is a bored child with few friends.

24th March:After much persuasion, Cesca Leach has joined the band as bassist on a trial basis. GOOD NEWS! This means that, once a drummer has been found, plans can now be set for small gigs and recording of songs.

However, the search for a drummer remains a largely unsuccessful one. Following the original breakup of the band, it has become increasingly difficult to come across a sticksman or stickswoman. Therefore, the band would like to issue the following statement:

PLEASE JOIN OUR BAND!

24th March: Welcome to the official Calaveras website. Following the decision by the band to reform and make a proper fist of the band, it seems only fit and proper to start a website, just in case they come to a town near you! While it is fairly basic at the moment, in time it will grow depending on the growth of the band. In the meantime, feel free to explore the site, and keep checking back for announcements from the band.
